ALMOST CERTAIN THIS IS A SCAM. THIS PERSON WAS EVEN LOW ENOUGH TO "SAY" THAT A FAMILY MEMBER OF MINE GAVE HIM THE phone number...you don't mess with people's families!!!! Also, tried to SPILL his guts about what the supposed debt was and what that person owed - that PII (personally identifying information) - and it is an invasion of privacy - a person can sue back to the debt collector or whomever they for harassment and defamation of character. Same things as "George" - above - never mentioned COMPANY - at all. I told him I had no idea who the person was and that he was scaring my family and that is truth - he used all types of lies and persuasion techniques. My atty. said they will try anything - this IS a debt collector of some sort but it most likely a SCAM. Do not give out any extra info even if you are scared - speak to an atty first. They offer free consultations. Also used the name C J Marshall.

I also received a suspicious call from CJ Marshall, saying that I was "listed by the state as a point of contact" for my ex. And then he rambled on a bunch of nonsense about an affidavit and "charges may be pressed," and urged that I call him back.

He was trying to sound like a lawyer, but did not claim to be one, nor did he give the name of the company he was representing.

someone using the name c j marshall called and left a voicemail regarding an affidavit from an old address from many years ago. i have no leagl issues of anu type and i want to know who this person is. i do not want to call back. i have been getting strange calls from different persons and numbers with some type of alarming issue.
