Just happened to me. One indian guy called me telling me he was from the irs and told me he was going to have me arrested in 30 in because I provided false info. They also said they send me two letters which they said I did not reply to. They also gave me a case number. Should I inform the irs?

Same thing bogus people saying they are irs

Was called and told that I did not disclose a foreign transaction to the IRS.
Told me that the police was going to arrest me within 3 days.

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today warned consumers about a sophisticated phone scam targeting taxpayers, including recent immigrants, throughout the country.

Victims are told they owe money to the IRS and it must be paid promptly through a pre-loaded debit card or wire transfer. If the victim refuses to cooperate, they are then threatened with arrest, deportation or suspension of a business or driver’s license. In many cases, the caller becomes hostile and insulting.
