Says they are agents for IRS and demand send money immediately through Money Gram.
This is a call and hang up scam to see if you are a live number. It is followed later from another number to sell you security systems. Make sure you have your local congressmans name, address and number handy and set up all your appoints with his name and address.Maybe then Congress will take some hard and fast action on unsolicited calling and harrassment.
Called and left a message saying there was a pending lawsuit against me...called back and the jerk was very convincing, gave a IRS "badge" number and proceeded to tell me criminal charges were pending against me for back taxes. When asked why I was never sent anything in writing, I was informed that they had sent a certified letter, ONE certified letter, no one was home to receive it, so it was returned. When he called he asked for me, not my husband, which made me wary from the start. My husband was killed a month ago in a car accident, so I wonder if these people are not just preying on grieving widows. In short, these people have no soul.
I got a call at 11:09am PST from this number. Tried calling it back on my lunch break and got a message that said it was disconnected or no longer in service.
Said that I was picked randomly for a grant of $9,000 it all sounded good until they told me that I needed to register with the Federal Reserve and pay $200 to get this grant sounds like a scam
