Same thing has happened to me. They are trying to create fear by first threatening "Police is on the way to arrest you" and then accuse you with their tax evasion etc etc crimes. "IRS does not call". The best thing you can do is to keep them on the phone and alert your local police's business number, do not call 911 or emergency number, they may have more important things to do. Also call your phone company and get this # blocked. What they are doing is federal crime, eventually they will pay heavily for this stupid scam.
Called my fiance. Strong Indian accent claiming back taxes owed over multiple years. No previous correspondence received from IRS. Such a scam. Please be aware! If they tell you there is a warrant out for your arrest, ask them for docket number, issuing judge, and prosecutors name.
A guy called and told he was from IRS. Introduced himself as Doug Miller. He told us we haven't paid some state ambassador tax for last 2 years. He said we should pay them $4324 within 4 hours or we will be arrested and deported. Kept calling and harassing without letting us to talk.
I got a call today from the same woman, claiming to be an IRS agent. She threatened that I would be arrested, that I had falsified documents to the government, I would be charged with 3 crimes, I would be put in prison in Alaska, etc. I found it strange that she didn't know the last time I filed taxes with them and couldn't tell me my SSN# however; she did know my address, but that could have been gotten from a resume' online. Careful out there folks!
I had the same problem with this number. Somebody called claiming to be an agent for the IRS, stating that I had falsified tax documents or excluded earnings from my tax filings. They gave me a time limit that the police would arrive in unless I paid a certain amount of money. Both people I spoke with had strong Indian accents. Be aware. Scammers everywhere.
A woman called and said she was from the IRS, that the police was on their way to our home to arrest me because of several delicts including tax evasion etc etc , and that she is there to inform beforehand and check on facts so I am not surprised. IRS doesn't call, especially if the police is on their way to your home I guess :) Being asked for her name and phone number, she gave me an IRS number and said her name was Elyssa Brown, chief investigating officer for the IRS. After I said I informed the police and FBI and they were on their way to get her she stayed calm and spent altogether 30 min with me on the phone. She had an Indian accent. She started insulting me, saying I deserve to be in Iran and Irak where the ISIS is and that I should die there and not be in the USA.
