CALL WAS FROM A LADY SAYING I OWED MONEY AND IF I DIDN'T PAY IT TODAY I WOULD BE THROWN IN JAIL HAHAHAHA. I WORK FOR THE STATE. THERE IS NO PENDING CHARGES ON ME. THESE PEOPLE ARE USING ANOTHER NUMBER ALSO (213) 457-7182. MAYBE THE SAME PERSON SHOULDN'T CALLED FOR TWO DIFFERENT STATES IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. FRAUD!!!!
Received call from 202-836-0636 and didn't answer. When I called it back, a strange woman answered and it echoed in the background.
IRS scam, once they get your number they call you from many different numbers. Do not let this D.C. area code fool you, this is not the IRS. If there was an issue they would not contact you by telephone, you would receive contact via mail. IRS website has more info.
Number called via automated dialer and gave this number as a return call number. When called it is answered and person CLAIMS to be IRS (not spoken out as Internal Revenue Service) . When I ask to speak with a supervisor to verify legitimacy, which I knew to be unobtainable, I was passed off to what seemed like 3 different people and the vulgarities began when I called them on being a scam.
Said from Federal Grants Dept and I was selected to receive a grant of $9,000 along with 1700 others. Asked how I want to receive it, thru Western Union deposit in my bank account or credit card account.
contacted me regarding job, left this number for callback. Have attempted contact multiple times over last 4 days; phone is never answered, no voice mail available. Is this a new type of prank or scam?
Recorded message. Womans voice. Says its IRS, Internal Revenue Services. Says its my final notice and they are suing me. Says to call back. I didn't.
they don't leave a voice message. when you try to call back you receive a recorded message.

Called claiming that they were giving away a $9,000 grant from the U.S. Government but I would have to give them a checking account number or a card number of some type.
Received a call from this number at 1:42 on Monday May 18. Caller ID says it is from DC, USA. The caller had a very thick accent and told me I had won a grant from the US government. He said he was calling from the US Government Grants Department and that every year many hundreds of people receive grants administered by the Human Health Services Department. He stressed that I should call 315-675-5164 immediately with an approval number that he gave me. He said they would take my bank info and deposit the "grant" into my account OR I could receive my money at any Walmart or MoneyGram location. Both of these numbers have been reported before.
