I just received a text from this number that uses my first name and asks, "Would you still like to learn how to make On1ine 1nc0me working just 90 minutes a day in the next 5 days? Text Sure for more details." The misspelling is intentional as that is what was sent to me.

They are threatening a friend of mine

This number is used by a Craig's List scammer. They items on Craig's List with extra low prices to get people to inquire about them. They never answer their phone. They will text you asking for your email address so that they can harvest the connection between your email address and your phone number.
They, then sell that information to Marketers and collection agencies.
The best way to protect yourself is to never answer a Craig's List add that has a phone number that is not from your area. Even if they say the item is in your area. If the Phone Number is not in your area and the price is too good to be true, It is.
