Calling stating they are calling about my credit card and want to reduce my interest rate. I called the only credit card I own and they have not tried to reach me. They suggested I alert the authorities. They will notify their fraud department.

Sounds like a recording about a credit card lower interest rate offer. However the 217-653 prefix is a cellular extension from Quincy Illinois. Therefore, the original caller is using a spoofing software to make it appear that they are calling from a different number. Treat this as suspicious.

I did not receive a call I received an email from a Mr.GODWIN EMEFIELE from the GOVERNOR OF CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA(CBN). This is so sickening that these scammers will either try emails or phone calls to scam you with nothing but lies. I am warning people now that if you receive an email or a call from this number ignore it and keep ignoring it. when I get things like this thats what I do "Ignore".
