I got a text from Richard inquiring about a roof proposal. The house is currently vacant and for sale. I emailed an estimate and received a fishy sounding reply. I decided to investigate a bit and found out this is indeed a scam. The email sent back by him read as follows:

The Proposal signed and attached,I am ready to pay the 50% deposits. I would need a little favor from you because am presently recuperating from the diagnosis of lung Cancer and am still in the hospital,I'm having a little problem with The initial owner of the house because I only paid 85% payment of the Property. He does not have the facility to accept credit card payment for me to balance him,because the initial owner do not have access to credit card facility that is why I want you to handle everything for me,??

Scammer texted said his name is Richard and want me to do a roof for his house. Less that he know that he did try to scam me 6 months earlier. Claim to be owning a house, but when I did a further research, he did not own the house. Tried to entice and pay me through a credit card. When ask for proof of ID as in Driver's License, he sent me a copy of a passport but cannot provide a Driver's License. Long story short, be ware as this is a scammer from somewhere in Nigeria or Russia.
